We Won a Grant!

Brooklyn, NY — Monday, December 8 — Pikliz Please, the Brooklyn-based Haitian condiment brand bringing “peak flavor” to kitchens across New York and beyond, has been awarded Second Place in the Brooklyn Public Library’s PowerUp! 2025 Grant Competition, securing critical funding to support the company’s next stage of growth.

Founded by siblings Maude and Ioan Delice, Pikliz Please is dedicated to elevating Haitian culinary traditions through handcrafted, small-batch pikliz made with produce sourced from New York farmers. Since launching in 2025, the company has gained strong traction at local markets and community events, quickly becoming a beloved staple for its bold, prebiotic-rich flavor and versatility across cuisines.

“We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition from the Brooklyn Public Library,” said Maude Delice, Co-Founder of Pikliz Please. “This award validates the work we have put into building a brand rooted in culture, community, and craftsmanship. The PowerUp! program gave us the tools to refine our business model and strengthen our long-term vision for growth.”

The PowerUp! Business Plan Competition is Brooklyn Public Library’s signature small-business accelerator, created to provide emerging entrepreneurs with training, mentorship, and financial support. More than 400 founders applied to the 2025 cohort, representing some of Brooklyn’s most innovative early-stage ventures.

“We created Pikliz Please to share a piece of our heritage with the world,” added Ioan Delice, Co-Founder and Culinary Lead. “This grant will help us scale production, expand our partnerships with local farms, and continue exploring sustainable food pathways that highlight New York’s agricultural ecosystem.”

Pikliz Please plans to use the grant funding to support brand development, commercial kitchen expansion, packaging upgrades, and community programming designed to connect New Yorkers to Caribbean cuisine and local agriculture.
